One year ago today, the L.O.M.L. asked me to marry him. I said yes!
Sarah, the dear friend who introduced Michael and me, one day asked me to describe my perfect ring "just for kicks." Well, in this romantic head of mine, I always thought that no matter what kind of ring I was given, I would love it because it came from my man. And I still think this is 100% true. However, if the man asks for help or suggestions from his gal's friends, this is not a bad thing, as I now know.
Like I said, I had never given any thought to my "ideal" ring, but just to humor Sarah, I started looking at rings online. Big mistake. I ended up loving so many that I sent Sarah a list of probably over 60 links, each with a varying description about what I liked or didn't like about each ring. Lucky for Sarah, she happens to be married to a web designer who has a knack for all thing computer + design, so they were able to take my entire list and narrow it down to what you see above.
AMAZING. Michael took that little graphic to the jeweler and designed the ring that I have now worn for a year. The ring was a matte finish at first, but I asked to have it buffed a few months into our engagement. Turns out I like the shiny, smooth look better.
Moral of the story: It's the love that counts, not the ring. But hey, a little help never hurt anyone. If you like it than you better put a ring on it!
